COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

By providing a safe environment, urban design, and community engagement we are reducing crime in the most dangerous countries in the world.

Homeownership boosts residents self-determination. With opportunity, families have worked their way to a better quality of life.

FIVE PILLARS

OF COMMUNITY

EDUCATION

Education is the foundation of our communities.

We have the FIRST and ONLY public bilingual schools in the countries we operate in. We teach early childhood education, elementary education, vocational education, language, adult career advising and financial and budgeting literacy.

By building schools, providing educational materials, and working in close partnership with organizations that offer innovative teaching, tutoring, training, childcare, and social activities for children of all ages, Education Model Towns strives to counteract the effects of poverty on youth.

INFRASTRUCTURE

We build dignified houses for our residents, taking them out of housing with with parasitic dirt floors, mud walls, and leaking roofs and putting them into clean, safe homes.

But a home by itself is not the answer.  Education Model Towns also provides its residents with paved roads, electricity, clean water, a waste disposal system, a sanitary sewage system, a storm sewer and transportation.

ENVIRONMENT

Education Model Towns teaches all of their residents the importance of maintaining a clean, safe and liter-free environment.

We created our own community garbage collection service and we train our residents on how to use it. Each neighborhood has its own communal dumpster where the residents drop their garbage off to be collected.

We also implemented a tree planting program for our residents and students to nurture our environment.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

Education Model Towns are committed to the wellbeing of their residents. Providing families with clean water, proper sanitation, proper hygiene and hygiene education, proper nutrition, a concrete floor, and a protective roof, all significantly reduce their exposure to diseases and illness. Proper Housing is Critical to the prevention and care of AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.

Each community contains public and semi-private recreational areas, including playgrounds, sports fields, and other amenities to encourage healthy and active lifestyles. We particularly focus on sports programs for peace and development among youth. By taking at-risk youth off of the streets and out of gangs we have reduced the crime and violence rates and drug and alcohol abuse rates.

SAFETY

We subdivided our communities into gated neighborhoods of 100 families.

This creates tight relationships between neighbors, a safer environment and a sense of belonging.

We have organized a police station to serve our towns and surrounding communities, a home owners association in each neighborhood, a neighborhood watch program, and a parent teacher association.

FINANCIAL STABILITY

Our financing programs have enabled low-income individuals to become first time homeowners. For the same cost of their existing rent (~$24 dollars a week) we are able to provide them with homes.

We create jobs for our residents by designing businesses and providing the space to work from. Currently Education Model Towns have 50 operating businesses within its communities including Medical offices, Internet Cafes, Toy Stores, Convenience Stores, Clothing Stores, Hair and Nail Salons, Barber Shops, Tailors, Restaurants, Hardware Stores, etc.
